ACA Insurance
The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also called Obamacare, is designed to make guaranteed issue health insurance plans available to everyone. These plans cover pre-existing conditions along with a list of essential health benefits that don't change from plan to plan. The ACA requires insurers to offer these policies at the same cost as non-ACA-compliant plans and prohibits insurers from denying coverage for medical expenses that could be reasonably anticipated once someone participates in the plan's entire plan year (January through December).

Vision & Dental
The vision correction benefits of insurance are significant. When you factor in the cost difference between corrective glasses and the cost of eye care that insurance pays for, getting your glasses can save you a lot of money. The savings received from having insurance offsets the cost of insurance, often paying for itself and then some.

Dental Insurance
Affordable Insurance Specialists has a dental insurance plan that helps you cover the costs of preventative dental care while softening the blow on pricier dental procedures like crowns, bridges, and fillings.

Accidental Insurance
Your medical bills and other potential out-of-pocket expenses following an accident can be covered by accident insurance. This covers any necessary emergency care, hospital stays, medical examinations, as well as additional costs you might incur, like travel and hotel requirements. Accident insurance can offer protection that bridges the gap between medical insurance and other types of insurance, such automobile or employment-related insurance.
MEDICARE VS. MEDICAID
What is a Medicare Advantage Plan? How does Medicaid work along with Medicare?
MEDICARE
Medicare Part C, also called Medicare Advantage (MA), are private insurance plans offered by Medicare-approved companies. These plans provide most of Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance) coverage and typically offer extra benefits such as vision, hearing and dental care. Most Part C plans also include Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage (MAPD plans).
MEDICAID
Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that helps cover medical costs for some people with limited income and resources. The federal government has general rules that all state Medicaid programs must follow, but each state runs its own program. This means eligibility requirements and benefits can vary from state to state. Medicaid offers benefits that Medicare doesn’t normally cover, like nursing home care and personal care services. People with Medicaid usually don’t pay anything for covered medical expenses but may owe a small co-payment for some items or services.

Did you know that those who have Medicare and are eligible for Medicaid can use them together?
LIS (LOW INCOME SUBSIDY) OR "EXTRA HELP"
A program to help individuals pay for Medicare prescription drug costs. Medicare beneficiaries receiving LIS may qualify for assistance in paying for their Part D monthly premium, annual deductible, coinsurance, and copayments. The amount of subsidy depends on the individual's income compared to the Federal Poverty Level and resource limitations set by the Social Security Act. This program is also known as Extra Help.
